Don't Avoid Bright Lights Collaboration (2024)

Don’t Avoid Bright Lights is a large-scale collaborative project by HopefulofNFTs and The Artist, the original artist behind the flashing skull-and-spine ordinal. What began as a single inscribed piece of an animated skull that lit up with light beams shooting from its eyes. Evolved into a powerful collection featuring over 100 artists from across the Ordinals space. Each artist contributed a unique interpretation of the original concept, creating a diverse anthology of styles, perspectives, and creative energy.
 

I was honored to be invited as one of the contributors. For my piece, I reimagined the original skull and spine through the lens of my Light Waves aesthetic. Instead of drawing the figure directly, I inverted it. removing the skull and spine from the composition to make space for something new. In their place, lines of black, red, and gray, drawn from one of my generative wave scripts, flow through the negative space, becoming the structure of the skull itself. The effect is a haunting, radiant silhouette, like light trying to reconstruct what once was.

Behind the figure is a vast space-scape: distant stars, a cosmic golden cloud galaxy, and a light source expanding at the galaxy’s center. A sun-like core pulses and grows within the skull, casting rays that beam through the eye sockets and nose cavity. It gives the impression of awakening. a supernova of consciousness.
 

The inspiration behind my contribution was simple: don’t avoid the bright light within you. We all carry light, and when we choose to share that light with others through kindness, compassion, and courage, it doesn’t diminish. it expands. In helping others, we awaken something inside ourselves. That awakening, that inner radiance, is the light we’re called to embrace, not avoid.
 

This collection signifies a moment of synchronicity in the Bitcoin Ordinals space. I'm grateful to be part of this meaningful celebration of shared creativity and light.
